Government for the people, by the people, for the people

Whatever happened to that? Now it’s screw the people lets go kills some other people.

This musical production seems to be the best way to get Prop 8 reversed, or is it?

But it is funny as hell.  It’s really a shame that Prop 8 is still a discussion point. It should never have passed, because we are creating another class of people.  Much like the 50’s and 60’s in this country.

Hopefully the Californian Supreme Court will resolve this soon.

Meanwhile enjoy.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

On the one hand there is this picture above that I received in an e-mail this morning.
Probably one of the least offensive or annoying e-mails in this current political season.
Then the ever provocative popbitch points me at the on-line Esquire headline:
Why White Supremacists Support Barack ObamaIn an informal Esquire survey, three out of four white supremacists prefer Obama, while McCain is the clear favorite among black nationalists. What??
Tom Metzger – Director, White Aryan Resistance
“The corporations are running things now, so it’s not going to make much difference who’s in there, but McCain would be much worse. He’s a warmonger. He’s a scary, scary person — more dangerous than Bush.”
Ron Edwards –  Imperial Wizard, Imperial Klans of America
“Obama, I think he’s a piece of shit. I don’t care that his mother was white. I don’t think he has enough brains to do anything good.”
Erich Gliebe – Chairman, National Alliance
“Obama might be a better candidate for our cause because he’s racially conscious. I don’t think McCain even acknowledges that a white race exists. He’s all about granting amnesty to illegal aliens. The fact he wants to keep us in wars in the Middle East for 100 years, that’s not a good thing.”
Rocky Suhayda – Chairman, American Nazi Party
“White people are faced with either a negro or a total nutter who happens to have a pale face. Personally I’d prefer the negro. National Socialists are not mindless haters.”
Yahanna – General, Israelite School Of Universal Practical Knowledge
“Finding out Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for president was one of the saddest days in black history.McCain is definitely the better shot for black people.”

Comments like that make me feel it is a sick world out there, and makes one worry about their children and grandchildren.

But on the other hand the freedom of speech is what everyone thinks is foremost in this free country.

Get out and Vote Tuesday

And of course it looks like the Brits will have the wildest party.

Here it is, the latest and greatest movie from JibJab.
Starring the usual suspects.

And please, when you have done voting for the main contender don’t forget this other important issue. Unless you are one of the three Republicans living in San Francisco you know which way you have to vote to preserve his legacy.

SAN FRANCISCO – A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush’s years in office by slapping his name on a San Francisco sewage plant has qualified for the November ballot.
The measure certified Thursday would rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.
Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind.

Not. But in case you are, enjoy the irony of this movie.
This would be really funny if it was not so scary, but that is the Republican way.
Scare the populace into submission.

I’m Voting Republican
is a satirical look at the likely outcome of another four years of Republican government. The not-so-subtle message behind the film is the importance of a united bloc of citizens willing to take the time and effort to vote Democrat in order to improve America’s domestic and foreign policy.

I have featured David Ford before on this site. Two of his songs are featured on the great Sun Studios web site, Go to Hell and State of the Union. I finally got his album “Songs for the Road’ [Thank you Amy] and it is awesome. His lyrics rank up there with early Dylan when he was in political comment mode. I have been playing it incessantly ever since I got it on Friday. One of my favorites is Requiem. So I went looking for some video to add here. And I found these two (and others) which are a live performance from The Shepherds Bush Empire (London) and a political statement video created by a fan.
Check them both out, but more importantly for yourself check out the album.

Requiem – Live at Shepherds Bush Empire

Obama vs Clinton, the Star Wars version.
Look out for Abraham Lincoln appearing to Barack as the ghost of Obi Wan…..
Starring Barack Obama as Luke Skywalker and Hillary Clinton as Darth Vader.
Let the Light Saber battles commence.
